Lois Regina (Boock) Ogno, age 85, peacefully transitioned to her eternal home on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care Monroe North Carolina.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 12, 1940, Lois was the daughter of the late Mildred and Harold Boock. She was the second of eight siblings. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John Ogno, son, Joseph Ogno, and daughter, Kathleen Giordano.

Her greatest passions were her faith in Jesus, her family, and her home in Brooklyn before relocating to Waxhaw, North Carolina.

Lois married the love of her life, John J. Ogno (May 15, 1960). They resided in their beautiful home in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York, where they raised their four children. She was employed at Lutheran Medical Center for over 30 years before retiring in 1995.

A fiercely independent woman, Lois was actively involved in her church and community. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, often visiting thrift stores or participating in other outings. When asked by her children, "What have you done today?" her frequent response was, "Nothing but watching my children and grandchildren and great children grow.

A memorial service will be held at later date in New York.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Barbaranne Bartlett, DonnaLee Medina, sons-in-law, Philip Giordano, William Bartlett, grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Chandler, Jennifer (Mike), Theresa (Harvey), Victoria (Kyle), great-grandchildren, Sarahann, Kenneth, Alana, Charlotte, Noah, Allen, Jasper, April, brother, Charles Boock, and sister, Valerie Ausulli.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110.
