Obituary For Jerry Colandrea

**************************************

Jerry Colandrea, 48, of Brooklyn, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2025. Born and raised in Brooklyn to immigrant parents from Monte di Procida, Naples, Italy, Jerry carried his Italian heritage proudly throughout his life.

He was predeceased by his beloved father, Salvatore Colandrea, and is survived by his devoted mother Letizia Colandrea; his siblings Donna, Michael, Anthony, and Enrica; his fiancée Lisa Colozzo; and his cherished nieces and nephews—Kaitlyn, Elizabeth, Andrea, Laura, Anthony, August, and Vera—all of whom he adored deeply.

Jerry earned his Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) and spent many years working in the design field. In 2012, he joined Kingsborough Community College as an adjunct lecturer in the Business Department, a role that became one of the great joys of his life. He was a dedicated educator who inspired students with both his creativity and his kindness.

A gentle soul and lifelong lover of animals, Jerry shared his home with two beloved cats who brought him constant comfort and companionship.

Jerry will be remembered for his warm heart, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty to the people he loved. His absence leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of his family, friends, students, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

It was an honor to have you as a brother-in-law. I was barely dating your sister for a month when you all were celebrating Thanksgiving a day early. I remember showing up at her job for a surprise date night, and you were there waiting too. You were skeptical of who I was, but you still asked if I wanted to join you both for dinner. Even through all the craziness of the Colandreas, I ended up marrying your sister—and I'm grateful every day that I did. RIP, brother. I'll always cherish the memories we made together over the years.
