************************************

Annagrazia DeSantis passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord one day after her 87th Birthday. She went to be reunited with her husband of over 60 years, Mario DeSantis, who passed away in 2015. The daughter of Antonio & Liberata DiGregoria, she died in her sleep surrounded by her children.

Anna was born in the small village of Cansano located in the province of L'Aquila in Abruzzi, Italy. She married her late husband, Mario, when she was just a teenager and had 5 children. Mario and Anna and family made their way to Brooklyn in March of 1966, where both of their parents already lived. Anna resided in the same house in Sunset Park for the rest of her life.

She quickly got a job as a cleaning lady for AT&T where she worked evenings cleaning the office building at 195 Broadway. She was proud of the work and went on to become a porter working days in the former AT&T building on 55th and Madison.

A wonderful Italian cook and the loving center of her home, she was known for her traditional multi-course Sunday dinners, her firm hand at times, and her overall loving presence.

She is survived by her 5 children: Rocco DeSantis, Maria Ascenza Giacobbe, Marcella Regniault, Liberata Lim and Cesare DeSantis along with their spouses, Brenda DeSantis, Sandy Giacobbe, Bill Regniault, Johann Lim and Susan DeSantis. She is also survived by her sister, Maria Cucchiara. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of 11 grandchildren and soon to be 10 great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed and will live forever in our hearts.

You can also donate to St. Jude's Children Hospital in her memory.
